Fitness Tip February 2022 - Change is a good thing!

A lot of trainers go into their health clubs and perform the same routine weeks on end before finely changing to something new only to find that change added growth toward their fitness goals. The answer here is that you shouldn't wait till your stagnant to implement changes onto your routine. Most fitness trainer who are not competition oriented should vary their routines about every four weeks, but be sure to keep the core exercises. Most competitive trainers vary their routines about every twelve weeks or so as their exercises are changed to discard whats working and whats not. So change it up now and then, because change is good!

One of the best fish that you can have while in season is Fresh Wild Alaska Salmon. It is loaded with protein, Omega's and thousands of little micro nutrients to help your body grow. The best times of the year are from July til the end of October during the fishing season. This when you can find fresh salmon in good fish market along the western seaboard. Don't buy out of season because we don't know what quality your getting or even if its real Wild Alaska Salmon. This is one protein source that is worth the wait every year. Vacuum packing it for later dates is also a way of having some in the later months, but don't exceed 3 month time as the flavor tends to degrade a little. Get some while its out there on market and enjoy. Tip: make sure its Wild Alaska Salmon and not farm raised as the nutrient quality and taste vary greatly.

Creatine ethyl ester is creatine monohydrate with an ester attached. The attachment of an ester is significant, because esters are found in the fat tissue of animals. AS a consumer you need to ask yourself two questions.
1. Why is this important for you?
2. Does this have a role in the absorption of more creatine into the muscle cell?

Why is this important for you? - This ester attachment give creatine a effective way ti penetrate the membrane of the cell through a process called PASSIVE PERMEATION. Its this method of absorption that is the crux of all the controversy surrounding this creatine form. This a good form of creatine for those who's tolorance to standard creatine is high. This form has been used in clinical therapies so it is not new and has been used in Amino Acid therapies with great success. So the methodology is sound.

Does this have a role in the absorption of more creatine into the muscle cell? -We here have tried some of the newer forms and it does seem to work a little better than regular creatine alone, but its still Creatine. AS for the claims of 40% or greater absorption that BS is just a bunch of puffery to get someone buying. On the other hand it seems to work for people who have had little to no effect from straight creatine monohydrate. Look Creatine Ethyl Ester makes it easier and more convient for you to get the creatine you want before training without having to lug around a big jug or mix it in some shake or drink. Recipe of the Month - HONEY MUSTARD CHICKEN!


Shopping List:


Make Ahead of Time: Make the honey mustard sauce ahead of time as directed in the first step. Keep in the refrigerator until ready to use. Can be stored in air toght container for up to one week.

Click to enlarge1. Preheat oven to 400°F. Combine mustard and honey in a small bowl. Stir in dill and orange peel.

Click to enlarge2. Line a baking sheet with foil. Place chicken, skin-side down, on prepared pan. Brush sauce on top of chicken; coat well.

Click to enlarge4. Brush skin with remaining sauce. Bake until juices run clear when thickest portion of meat is pierced with a knife, about 30 minutes.

Cook Tips

  • For an even speedier meal, use skinless chicken breasts. Broil chicken, turning once, until no longer pink, about 15 minutes.
  • Make measuring honey easier by spraying the measuring cup with vegetable cooking spray. The honey will not stick to the cup.

Question: What the hell are Shin Splints and what the cure? I think I got them because my legs hurt right along the bone in front of my lower leg.

Shin Splints are when you have pain in down the front of your lower leg just as you have sighted. They are caused because of undue stress on the muscles and tendons of the lower leg mostly due to an increase in exercise intensity or length. Almost all cases of shin splints can be treated with rest, ice and other self-care measures. Wearing proper footwear and modifying your exercise routine can to help relieve some stress will prevent shin splints from recurring. If the pain persist see you doctor because there may be an underlying problem.
