The problem with Glutamine comes from the misinformation and theorizing that since it does help with these stressful circumstances it must also help with the stress of working out. To some degree it does if taken after workout and before bedtime. It is also important for providing "fuel" (nitrogen and carbon) to many different cells in the body. Glutamine is needed to make other chemicals in the body such as other amino acids and glucose (sugar). We just DON"T have enough information to say that supplementing with glutamine is a waste. Remember people said you don't need to supplement with creatine either or that you don't need more protein than a average Joe to grow your muscles. The point is that all things change and science is always changing.
