The Best Supplements for building Lean Hard Muscle Mass...
Bodybuilding supplements is one of those topics where everybody has a opinion. Those opinions can range from supplement with and trying everything under sun, to using absolutely nothing at all. Both are the two extremes of the spectrum but this is what you get when a industry like supplement becomes so large so fast without many regulation to keep in check allot of true crap from appearing on the market making wild claims. Fortunately their are some very good companies out there putting together some truly worth the price product and researchers around the globe are testing and retesting many ingredients to make sure the claims at least fall in the realm of believable.
What we are going to do for you in this article is carve out for your own purposes those supplement categories that we believe are worth your dollars. These are the supplements that will actually help you achieve that lean, hard chiseled physique. Hard work in the gym and sound nutritional practices are the only way to last strength & vitality! Believe us there are NO MAGIC bullets out there, but there are nutritional supplements that can help you tremendously if you are willing to put in the work. So here we go!
Vitamins & Minerals: (Micronutrients vital to every cell in your body, and to your being able to grow bigger and stronger.) One of the biggest mistakes bodybuilders and every person in general makes is to think they are getting all the vitamins and minerals from their diets that they need to function at an optimum level. We here have read just about everyone of the article around the internet saying vitamins are obsolete, or you don't need vitamins supplements because your diet should take care of that. Those article are simply put A LOAD OF BULLSHIT! So how are you going to put back all the B-Vitamins, C-Vitamin, countless Minerals you just sweated away, and pissed away down the toilet during your training section. Didn't mean to be so graphic but there is no damn way you're going to replenish water soluble vitamins which are constantly leaving the body in large enough amounts simply by eating. This is exactly why so many of you are run down and dragging ass after a couple days training. Your micronutrients are totally depleted, so you take a day off and you feel great. Next time though your dragging ass after only 2 days training. The cycle repeats because you not going to replenish your lost vitamins fast enough to make any substantial gains without supplementation. NOT GONNA HAPPEN!
Amino Acids: (Full spectrum amino acid tablets or high quality beef liver tablets containing full listing of essential amino acids.) We know most of you were expecting to see protein powders here but their coming next. The reason we put amino acid supplements here is because they are like little gold nuggets to your eating plan. Amino acids are essentially what bodybuilding supplements are all about, finding those Golden Nuggets that work today and the next day. One of the most beneficial things bodybuilders of the 70's, 80's and early 90's did was to take 2-3 grams of peptide-bonded amino acid tablets along with each meal and through out the day. Some like Lee Haney, and Dorian Yates consumed 15-20 tablets daily. These tablets not only buffer your foods lack of a complete amino acid profile but they keep your body in a positive nitrogen balance. The hidden thing here is unlike protein powders which can some times have adverse reaction to digestion peptide-bonded amino acid tablets or beef liver tablets are treated exactly like raw food. No burps, farts or discomfort, just protein.
Protein Powders: (Powders that like the amino acids contain a full spectrum of all essential amino acids in adequate amounts for muscle growth and performance.) There are allot of different protein powders on the market right now but not all these powders are created with the hardest of hardcore athletes in mind. Some of the new powders derived from plant based sources though technically complete are not sufficient enough to stand up by themselves to the rigors of supporting a hardcore bodybuilder or strength athlete for any sustained period of time. In spot work here and there they can fill in but day in and day out they fall short and leave you flat for this very reason - PLANT PROTEINS ARE A MIX OF DIFFERENT SOURCES TO FROM A COMPLETE AMINO ACID SPECTRUM. Yeah we know some companies are going to say it BS, BUT IT'S NOT. Plant based powders though they have come along way are still not on par with Egg, Milk and Meat based protein powders in providing the bodybuilder with nutrients they need to sustain growth over the longest periods. We will say this though, all the plant based powders of today do digest and assimilate quickly and without any digestive discomfort. If they get there other growth factors up in the future they could give the protein leaders a run for the money. As for now stick with whey, milk, beef, egg as your main sources in preferably a blended protein source containing 2 to 3 of the main protein sources.
Creatine Monohydrate: (Creatine monohydrate the #1 and most studied bodybuilding supplement in the past 30 years.) When we talk creatine we talk 100% pure creatine monohydrate. We are not talking about any offshoot of any kind. Not any of these creatine derivations have been scientifically proven to do any of the things advertised by the companies that promote them. Now the may work in these given formulas, they do not in any way work better than the product they originate from. So if your choosing a creatine based supplement and you looking for convenience try one of the newer versions, but beware that the lower dosages are just that lower dosages. They are not more concentrated, quicker delivering or any of the other puffery used to sell them. Creatine Monohydrate is still the KING of creatine and will be for the for see able future.
L-Glutamine: (Pure L-Glutamine is one of the most confusing bodybuilding supplements on the market today.) You here allot of different opinions about the value of glutamine in today chatter about what's need and what's not. We are talking about pure L-Glutamine here not any other kind. One of the easiest way to talk about the effect of l-glutamine is to see the effects it has to a contest prepping bodybuilder. It's night and day with their recuperation and ability to train at the level they need to in order to be ready to compete. This supplement has been shown to combat stress and help persons achieve a positive nitrogen balance during those times. We have had people that were dragging ass without it, muscles flat and lifeless. So don't come with the ordinary Joe Bull Shit that oh its just a worth less supplement when you have not even come close to the walls of your physical limits, you still have to train and at the same time trying preserve what you already have. Put this shit in your toolbox and stop listening to all the Bull Shitters who know absolutely nothing about hard ass work!
Essential Fatty Acids: (These are two fats linoleic and alpha-linolenic acids the you cannot synthesize in your body.) When most bodybuilder, for that matter the general population think of thing vital to their health fats seem to come in last. Fats have been given a bad rap in the country because of a food industry focused on profits over health. The so called FDA has been as complicit bystander in this bullshit for over 50+ years. Fats became the enemy in the 70's onward and sugar was left to run ramped causing one major diseases after another. These basic fats, found in plant foods, are used to build specialized fats called omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids. You can also get these fat from Fish Oil, Flax Seed Oil, Hemp Oil, and some others. The bottom line is the fats along with protein are the one 2 nutrients essential to your well being.
Carbohydrates: (Clean quick fuel to help you through really tough workouts.) Carbohydrates have been getting a beating in the world of the nutritional experts that seem to pop up when changes occur in anything we do now a days. The vitamin experts are a good example of the BS that starts to run ramped once they get their teeth into a subject. Carbohydrates tend to be their latest victim. No lets be honest we eat to many carbs and that has lead to the obesity, and almost all of the health problems we have in today society, but not all carbs are bad carbs. Dextrose, and Maltodextrin are the most used in supplements today. Stay away from Maltodextrin it is not a good carb for your body in any way shape or form. Dextrose which the body does use for energy is a way better carbohydrate to look for in and energy drink or powder your going to purchase. Karbolyn is the next best choice as it passes through the stomach very quickly and is readily available for use by the muscles. It is a homopolysaccharide derived from potato, rice and corn. Our last but all natural recommendation is to add Honey to your drink. Clean Raw Honey. We have had trainees mix 100 grams of natural peanut butter with 100 gram of raw honey and have this as a pre-workout meal and have raved how well it works. You can not get any more of a natural supplement than that. The key is to find what works for you.
Electrolytes: (Electrolytes are vital for the normal functioning of the human body.) When we talk electrolytes we're talking sodium, potassium, calcium and bicarbonate. If you have a deficiency in these minerals (pesky vitamin and minerals) you cannot function properly. Older adults are particularly more prone to be at risk of electrolyte imbalance because of just going(urinating) more than you used to. Replenish electrolytes through out the day and even more so during hotter weather.
Supplemental Add On: (Very good supplement just not those that are required in our book for achieving your desired goals of adding muscle mass to your physique.)
These are the Lean Mass Supplements that we have seen with our own eyes that truly work for you and help you the most in achieving your goals in terms of building an exceptional physique. There are some bodybuilding supplements out there on the edge that could help here and there but the health risk are such that they need to be avoided because the cost benefit ratio is skewed to far to the bad side to of be of any good to anyone overtime. Remember great bodybuilders are not built in one or two years it take time and effort. There are No magic bullets in supplements and even pharmacology for that matter. Until we meet again - Se Ya!
